1981 marked the beginning of Punarvas. Punarvas Education Society's Shri Devrajji Gundecha Punarvas Special School & Vocational Training Centre for the Mentally Handicapped placed in 1550 sq. mtr. constructed area (ground plus 4 storeys). Under the leadership of Late Mr. Prabhakar N. Modak & other stalwarts of Goregaon, Punarvas joined other NGO's in trying to reach out to a small portion of Mentally Challenged that needed to be habiliated.

To promote practical & economically viable vocational training & promote gainful employment for the special ones. To assist the parents & guardians by empowering them to provide for the welfare & care of the mentally challenged children.
We are planning to go in for drastic redevelopment expansion programme of 60000 sq feet building construction.We aim to set up, a diagnostic centre, facilities for schooling for 250 students, a Vocational Training Centre and workshop for 150 students, a Centre for Cerebral Palsied Children, an N.O.S. Centre, Research centre, and other such activities.

We celebrated our 37th Annual Day on 23rd January, 2019 at our premises.Children performed on songs and enjoyed the party.One of our children's parents sponsored the snacks for the day.
